The Venetian terrazzo does not require any special care. In fact, it is known for its robustness and ease of maintenance. However, over the years, the floor will exhibit dulling halos due to dust deposited over time. To restore the floor to its optimal appearance, simply wipe off the dust with a damp mop and then use a domestic polisher.
It is preferable to avoid washing Venetian blind floors with unsuitable detergents – such as ammonia, bleach and hydrochloric acid detergents – as they can corrode the surface in the long run. Periodically, it is advisable to carry out a wax treatment, at least in the areas most exposed to wear and tear, in order to improve and maintain the lustre of the surface.
Conservative restoration is our dedicated service to restore Venetian floors damaged or neglected over the years. In order to proceed correctly with a restoration, we first determine the era of construction of the floor, the materials it is made of and the binders used. We then prepare an intervention designed not to disrupt the characteristics of the existing terrace.
Especially in cases of rebuilding or adding parts of the terrace, we will intervene using appropriate materials, equipment and techniques. We will avoid the use of materials and techniques (additives, treatments, synthetic resins, etc.) that are incompatible with the nature of the materials that make up the terrace or that have not been sufficiently tested in their use. In this way, although the new parts may not be identical to the existing ones, we can achieve an aesthetically optimal result.
We create Venetian floors with skilful craftsmanship and high-quality materials, respecting both the customer’s requirements and the surrounding environment.
Through renovation and restoration work, we restore the original splendour of antique Venetian floors in villas, palaces, porticoes, public buildings and private homes.
We help preserve the historical heritage through the conservative restoration of Venetian floors. This way we ensure that they remain in excellent condition for a long time.
